baby is here

Lily finally had her baby on may 23 at 11 pm.  We missed it by minutes.  I moved her to a grass pasture around 9:30 pm, and by the time I checked on her again she had had him.  She didnt give any indication she was going to have him, so I think she waited for privacy.
She had a chestnut colt.  Anybody want to buy a mini in a few months ;)

Today I had to have the farm vet out.  Gjeli has had a huge lump on her face for a week.  Sometimes it was alot smaller.  She also was born with a nerve problem on that side of her face that makes her eye ear and lip sag.  I was worried it might be something that needed medication or tooth care.  Turns out I paid $180 to be told she is getting food stuck in her cheek and no worries, just yank it out every now and again.  At least her teeth got floated while he was out.  It didnt help though because the food wad is already back by this evening.  Oh well.  Here she is tranqued!

We also rescently had last springs wether lamb butchered.  The butcher was impressed.
it is really good!  I will probably be posting pics of newborn lambs in a few weeks.  The sheep were bred late this year but better then none.

Riley helped put in the garden, and Brian dragged out the manure in the pasture to keep flies away.
